UPDATE... GREAT meeting guys! I feel we got a lot accomplished in some ways. That's for sure! As gipsie's minutes will show, we did decide to form a new organization. The 14 people that attended declared themselves to be founding members. Four other people are assumed to be founding members: Chris C., Dave D., Jamie L., and Tom S.. We didn't establish a process for anyone else who would like to be a founding member, so I am open to suggestions. Maybe others would like to make the declaration at the next meeting: Wednesday, Dec. 15, same place, same time. I will create and maintain (for now, at least) a membership database, so I will need full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and the primary recreational activity that you want to identify with. You can email that info to me at russell@njconservation.org. Also, I have contacted Rob Auermueller, the WSF superintendent, in regards to our proposed projects that we discussed last night. I'll let everyone know how he responds. And...we need a name! New Jersey Outdoor Recreation Alliance? New Jersey Trail Lovers Coalition? Maybe a single word that could symbolize our mission? All suggestions are welcome.

Relaying an email from Rob Auermuller, which he sent in response to my message telling him we have established the organization and are ready to start some projects--
"Congratulations. I have several ideas that your group can assist Forest staff with. I appreciate all of the help and the cleanup recently at Apple Pie Hill. We had another group out yesterday cleaning up a historic site and painting a bridge. I recommend that we meet after Thanksgiving to discuss and coordinate some of these ideas. As of this moment, I am available to meet Nov. 30, Dec 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and 10. I typically work 8-4:30, but could accommodate an evening meeting with advance notice. Although, if we plan to conduct a field visit, we will want to plan for a daytime meeting. Let me know what works."

Quoting Rob Auermuller: " I recommend that we meet after Thanksgiving to discuss and coordinate some of these ideas. As of this moment, I am available to meet Nov. 30, Dec 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and 10. Since he offers to arrange an evening meeting, how many people would like to set it up for this date in the evening?

Sounds good to me Russ. Is this a solo meeting or will there be a few representatives? Need your secretary? ;D

Russ, I just realized that the meeting is on a Tuesday night. I am in school Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays... I can skip class if you really need me to, but by any chance is the 1st a possibility?

I go to school at night until February. Any idea where we are going to do this? Red Lion again?
