me and a few buddies bumped into park police while doing some geocaching near carranza last night , the one was cool and the other had a huge attitude about everything and had a lot to say about nothing , and trying to make general conversation with him in his eyes "the NJTLC is a sore subject with park police" apparently he thinks that 99% of the memebers are the problem out in the pines , he said were the ones out there tearing it up , drinking and partying and just throwing trash in the woods ,he made it clear it was totally against this group and quoted saying good luck hanging signs cause thats about we can actually do , he just had a piss poor attitude and i just really dont understand that if actual law enforecement is against us how is anything supposed to get better ?

And he actually said, "the NJTLC is a sore subject with park police"? Any other description of these two officers? And what was the actual location?

And what was the actual location? yes it was last night the 18th it was right around 9:30 pm , and that was a direct quote , the younger of the 2 directly said njtlc is a sore subject and also directly said that we are the ones out there partying and destroying the woods, we were on carranza road just about exactly a mile before the the memorial on the paved part of the road (N 39° 46.945 W 074° 39.128 ), im not to great at describing people , the guy being ignorant was younger didnt look any older then maybe 30 short dark hair the other guy was a little older maybe late 40s and a little pudgy , they were 2 park police in the same SUV

No surprise there. Thought it was much better when he had Park Rangers. I find the name "Park Police" very offensive. As if New Jersey didn't already have enough police, now I have to deal with them while trying to get away from it all.

You can always record what they say with your cell/smartphone. They may tell you to turn it off but they have no right to.

Not for nothing here, but isn't the park open from sunrise to sunset? 9:30 seems to be after sunset.

At first blush, it sounds like this guy had no knowledge of NJTLC and was just being belligerent. Unfortunately, not a terribly rare event. However, we really do need to make sure that's the case by making contact with the Park Police, if possible. If we don't already have that type of connection with them, then we should start to figure out how to foster one.
