Gipsie, do we have all the email addresses for all the founding members? If so, maybe folks would be comfortable with an email exchange to see if the group is agreeable to this, at least for now. I am pretty close to completing the email list, hope to have it done at the next meeting. Because Tom is in the process of starting a new site for us, where I am sure there will be embedded email, I will set up a temporary email address for us on one of the free servers and start a thread with the address and other info.

I would think all correspondence would go to the secretary ?? You might also use a Google or other such group that will distribute all email to set persons. Or check with Tom there may be embedded emails here that he can set-up. Actually I am pretty sure there is. True, but we don't actually have a corresponding secretary at this point. I think gipsie is already catching emails, but we don't have a physical address for standard mail. More stuff we need to nail down at the upcoming meeting...

It's a shame that all the good that people do on that day doesn't come out in the press
i was in a 4 wheel drive magazine a few years back..don't follow them now but it would be cool to have a 4 wheeler mag cover the event..anyone have any contacts?

Mike, I am going to try to get in touch with a couple of mags and stuff this week. I was thinking of putting the press situation on the agenda for the next meeting...

that would be great..it really is such a fantastic even and everyone has so much fun doing it..it's hard for me to figure why there isn't a big spread..especially if this year ..10 years later we celebrate
how many events like this last that long?..i'm proud of every person involved and we ALL should get our due

So correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Pine Barrens Cleanup going to be Oct, 30th this year. According to the attached link the Jeep Jamboree ends the saterday before. www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/trips/itinerary/pine_barrens.pdf What do you think about trying to get the Cleanup on the Jeep Jamboree schedule? Also if a 4-wheel mag is covering this, they can also cover the Jamboree at the same time. Might be something that attracts them.

I think that would be a good idea media wise, however these people are spending 100S of dollars for the Jeep Jamboree. I doubt that they'll want to pick up trash at a cost of a few hundred dollars. I may be wrong but thats just my thought.

Now maybe if their was a way that Jeep Jamboree USA could send out cleanup flyers to all of their participants it could help get the word out some more.

Agreed. We just need to make their participants aware, ahead of time so they can make plans, that the Cleanup is occuring. And give their participants some info on the event to try to make them care enough to spend an extra day in the pines.

I concur. I believe(not sure), that alot of the particpants are from out of state. They usually get a hotel room for the weekend and make it a small vacation. I'm not sure how many people we could convince to stay for an extra week. I know me personally would never pay for a guided tour through my backyard lol. On the other hand I know some of the participants are semi local newbies, these people you may be able to get to come out. Figure every person that comes out is usuyally another 2-3 bagsworth of trash, so every indidual person makes a huge impact. Quite honestly my goal is tyo keep the little are of Wharton that I have adopted clean enough to not need attention come next year and the attention can be pushed to other locations.

The clanup is always the third Sunday in October. That would make it the 23rd not the 30th. And this is the 10 year anniversary. No worries fellas, it is gonna be HUGE this year!
