I think we need to get moving on the name thing. Maybe I am jumping the gun, but I would like to get the ball rolling so I can make a printable version of the proposed bylaws and whatever else we may need. Cast your votes..... ;D

I jumped on the bandwagon and went with the original name.. besides its what got this project off the ground the threat of trail closers.

Only a total of 5 votes, but unanimous so far. Bumping back up. Speak now or forever hold your peace....

It's hard to know how many of our founding members are using the forum. I'm fine with NJTLC, but do we really need to nail it at this point?

If we don't decide on a name we can do much as far as literature or promoting!

I'm just recommending that we establish and follow a process for making decisions, and that the process ensures that everyone has had an opportunity to weigh in. Like I say, I am fine with NJTLC. I just don't know whether this is a choice made by the founding members. It seems to me that anyone using the forum had the opportunity to vote using the impromptu poll. But I'm recommending that we start off with deliberate processes, rather than arbitrary ones. I really don't see how the organization can go forward making decisions sometimes after following a due course and sometimes following an impromptu course.

I voted for NJTLC due to the fact that it is already starting to be known. I hate the word "lovers" being in it but that is just my opinion, the acronym is a nice one though.

Yeah, the name is not fully resprentative but it seems to be getting 'sticky' now. The acronym is good and parallel to another group, although the scope of this group is larger then trails. There could be many alternatives. The NJRA was a good name, but the acronym sounds like rifle association. - The message board won't be able to reflect every members view but still a usefull tool. I do agree that decisions happen at the board meeting.
