At a NJ Pinelands Comm and NJDEP permitted event myself and 10 year old son ribboned off about a 600 foot section of gravel roadway in BBSF and stood watch to ensure none of the participants left the roadway and entered the area to the side of it, a moss covered cedar swamp. We spent about 4 hours (except the time we ran to Wawa for some food and drink) sitting there watching people go by us. Talked to about 30 hikers and one mountain biker as they passed by and asked why the roadway had yellow ribbon along the side. No one really stopped, we just chatted as they passed by, it would have been a nice opportunity to hand out NJTLC info.
He did a little bit of pedaling on his mountain bike but we mostly just swatted greenhead flies for fun. The area where we parked was an "accessible area" at the red trail. It seemed to have been "used" recently by the trash that was left by theres. We filled up 3 plastic Wawa bags of trash and hauled it out.
