Please post names in this thread for nomination to the position of:
Chairman: Must be a member of the GC
We will also be voting on the creation of three new positions and I would like to gather nominations now so that in the event that we do create to positions, which I heartily recommend, we can fill them immediately.
Treasurer: Must be a member of the GC (this falls under "any other distinct positions of duty that are deemed necessary" provision of article VII (B) of the bylaws).
Assistant Secretary: Any member can hold this position
Assistant Membership Secretary: Any member can hold this position
The role of the two assistant positions would be to provide help to the two existing secretaries. The assistant secretary would take notes and provide minutes in the absence of the secretary and the assistant membership secretary would help in processing the backlog of membership applications.
If I am nominated for and am elected to the position of Chairman, we will then need to fill the role of Vice Chairman. So if you nominate me for Chairman, please also nominate a Vice Chair.
Any empty positions on the GC will be discussed at the meeting. Filling these spots is done by vote of the GC for the unexpired term. Since we do not yet have the division of GC positions settled between one and two year initial terms. I propose that any of these interim appointments are automatically added to the one year list, giving the membership a chance to vote as soon as possible.
