I didn't realize the date before I read it. Was the PPA around in 1980? Interesting who gets the spotlight at different times.

I learned about this "trail lovers coalition" from the forumn you quoted.
I came with an open mind.
Unfortunately, the more this turns into Russ ppa blog the more I agree with the op.
