It was discussed at last night's meeting that we could come up with a flyer & kick ideas back & forth. Here's the first thing I came up with (with most content borrowed from our home page) Attachments:

Of course it needs some color & graphics, but with my computer skills, I'm lucky to have put that together

Wow, Nice!!!!!!!!!!!
I think its usable right from the start.
May I suggest, to move all the addresses and contact information to the bottom, spaced out in one row. Doesn't have to be so bold or even big as long as its separated out into separate visable chunks. Wrap those sentences in the bottom, as there is a little too much separate centered items. It will also make it a little shorter in lenght. Great stuff Muck. I ready when you are to make some copies and start placing them.

Looks like a great start Muck!
To provide ideas/inspiration, here is how some other groups summarize their efforts. I REALLY like the T.R.E.A.D. acronym and I'm working on ideas for a similar idea to match this organizations goals: ****************************************************************** Blue Ribbon Coalition:
The BlueRibbon Coalition is a national non-profit organization dedicated to protecting responsible recreational access to public lands and waters. We want to keep your land open for use, whether you recreate on a mountain bike, snowmobile, motorcycle, personal watercraft, ATV, four-wheel drive, horse, or your hiking boots. (read more)
Today, the BlueRibbon Coalition is a respected national recreation group that represents over 10,000 individual members and 1,200 organization and business members, for a combined total of over 600,000 recreationists nationwide.
If you would like us to keep you informed of the latest recreational access issues and ways you can help prevent land closure, sign up to receive our email Action Alerts.

Tread Lightly:
Tread Lightly! Pledge
Travel responsibly. Respect the rights of others. Educate yourself. Avoid sensitive areas. Do your part
Tread Lightly!Tread Lightly!® is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to promote responsible outdoor recreation through ethics education and stewardship. The organization was launched in 1985 by the US Forest Service, and became a nonprofit organization in 1990. Tread Lightly!’s educational message, along with its training and restoration initiatives are strategically designed to instill an ethic of responsibility in a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts and the industries that serve them. The program’s goal is to balance the needs of the people who enjoy outdoor recreation with our need to maintain a healthy environment. Tread Lightly!’s core focus is on people that use or are affected by motorized and mechanized vehicles. The organization offers unique programs and services to help remedy growing recreation issues. Unique enough, the federal government officially recognizes the organization as a sole-source service provider of education and training on how to be environmentally and socially responsible while using motorized and mechanized vehicles in the outdoors. Spectrum of Stakeholders Stakeholders include government agencies, industry, media, conservation groups, recreation clubs and concerned individuals who share a common goal—to find a balance between humans and nature. Our federal partners include the National Park Service, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Education and Training Tread Lightly! is the nation’s only source for a full line of motorized and non-motorized outdoor ethics training and education. Tread Lightly!’s educational materials include: guidebooks, quick-tip brochures, a hunting education curriculum, an online awareness course, how-to videos, teaching materials, and a line of children’s materials based on Tread Lightly!’s squirrel mascot, Lightfoot®. Tread Lightly! also developed a nationally recognized program called Tread Trainer™. Tread Trainer is a training course designed to produce volunteer instructors of the Tread Lightly! ethic all over the country. Communication Tread Lightly!’s positive message of balancing outdoor ethics with recreation has reached nearly 50 million people through strategically-designed public service announcements for print, radio, television and the web. More than $1 million in ad space is donated each year for these important messages. News coverage involving Tread Lightly! reaches an additional 10 million people per year. Restoration The Restoration for Recreation™ program was designed to keep the great outdoors beautiful, healthy, and accessible by providing much needed resources for backlogged maintenance, along with critical education and communications initiatives to allow for environmentally sustainable outdoor recreation.

How about something like this:
Leave No Trace
Obey State Park Rules
Volunteer to Give Back
Educate Yourself and Others
Respect All Users
Stay on Existing Trails
The term 'Lovers' in our name seems to throw people off. I figure we might as well embrace it (pun intended) and give it some real meaning... give it a purpose.

It looks like you're both headed in the right direction.
I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have someone reach out to the State with draft language before we finalize this. It would be good if the flyer, post card or biz card (or whatever we're using to give out) and the web site link had a consistent piece of boilerplate language.

This is something I came up with real quick. There would also be a back page as well with more information. These pictures are for presentation purposes only and will not be used or duplicated in any fashion. Attachments:

Trailhead, that's looks good! Represents plenty of uses and gets to the point about becoming active or at least being a good steward of the land.

Bump this to the top. A member from the horse clubs has the ability and experience to do a nice tri-fold brochure for the coalition. I think we should consider taking elements of everything seen here and packaging it into a tri-fold that works.
If anyone has any additional ideas or if anyone wants to take a shot at rearranging the information to make it work in a tri-fold format - now is the time. I think it would be great to have a working sample ready to give to her at the meeting next month.

So is no one interested in this? or is it that everyone is content with the existing drafts?
Even if we like the existing drafts, we need to come up with a final draft.

Greg, If I may... Would you please draft and forward a proposed "final" to the GC via email? Let's get a vote on this. I'll check the bylaws and see if we can do it via email, if not, we'll do the back and forth ahead of time and vote at the meeting. That way we have a chance of having it ready for the Smithville event. Thanks, Tom Tom H

Hi Trailhead.
Does your statement mean that the people in the pics have given permission. It may also be expected for it to be duplicated.
