This is a good idea. Mike had mentioned it before on another thread and I think it ay be something to give serious consideration to. I will do some research today and get back to everyone on here after I finish the minutes....aaargh!

SJER did Rt 206 from the Ranger Station to Chew Rd for about 10 years until the state pulled the plug on the Adopt-a-highway program. We asked to continue without the supplies from the State but were told no. They gave us orange trash bags, gloves and vests. One year I coordinated my son's cub scout pack at the same time as the highway clean up, SJER did both sides of the highway and the cub scouts cleaned up the property at the 206 Ranger Station and down Quaker Bridge Rd, that was the last year we were permitted by the State.
I'm guessing Shamong Twp. is doing this on thier own??

As far as cleaning up goes I look at it this way. I have cleaned up numerous times without any recognition, without permission, without any guidlines. I have also participated in Waterford Township cleanups, Mikes annual cleanup, geocaching cleanups, and even organized one a ways back for Bass River State Forest. It all depends on what your goal is. If as an individual you want to make a difference I say go for it. If as an organization you want to do it then, yeah, you have to follow the footsteps. Even though we are an organization, we are also all individuals. So if we want as individuals we can meet with one another and tackle different areas as "multiple individuals".
