I just installed a CB in my jeep. Is there a channel the forest rangers use so if I run into someone doing something illegal or destructive I can report it to the rangers?
Also Dec 15 meeting: what will be discussed so I can better prepare for the meeting?

As far as the CB channel goes, as far as I know it is similar to other law enforcement where it;'s not easily available to the public.

is it even a cb channel I believe the NJ State Parks Police Dept. uses the NJSP Trunked Radio [Talkgroups assigned to them] as their main communications throughout the State now with Trenton Dispatch. The primary talk group used is the "Parks PD" channel, then "Parks PD Ops." This is different that there former VHS radios used.. And that is the extent of my radio knowledge...

I will stop and talk to them and see if we can set up a better way of communicating with them. We need better communication and swifter response to actually be affective in "catching" the people destroying our forest.

agreed. Going back a few months ago a group was out doing a night ride and came across a party on top of apple pie hill. They called a few numbers and couldn't get anyone, they eventually got through on one # and an hour later the kids were still up there partying. Next morjning the ambers of the fire were still burning indicating noone ever came to break the party up.

Ya I have encountered this problem a couple times. We will not be able to keep wharton clean and safe if we cant get rangers out there asap to enforce the laws. we can be their eyes and ears. I know I can be very affective if I had a way of communication with the rangers, given that I am minutes from carranza memorial, APH, and 1/4 mile its easy for me to patrol these areas constantly!

The State park police central dispatch # is 1-877-927-6337 They prefer you call dispatch so they can get the closest person there!
Amanda Smith is great she came to Jeeps in the Vineyard and collected the toys! We filled her Grand Cherokee!

Yes they are but that is one of the numbers that was contacted during the episode I mentioned earlier. It may have been the understaffed situation baring its ugly face I'm not sure.
