Hello all, I hope the holiday season is good to you and yours and wish you the best for the coming year.
I wanted to put up a quick "state of the coalition" note because I keep hearing of our demise... The latest bit of evidence that's been presented to me is that our site web went down on December 1st. I have reached out to our webmaster and will try to resolve this as quickly as I can but I do assure you that we're still alive and kicking.
In lieu of a December meeting, the regular meeting crew decided to have another clean up followed by a social event. It was kind of a Christmas party for the die hards. I'm happy to report that the clean up netted about 15 heavy-duty trash bags of garbage out of Brendan T Byrne this past weekend, along with a truck-full of old pipe and large trash. Thanks to CJCR for their efforts! The party was a success as well! Thank you H & H!
We've made some changes in the how we will approach projects and our relationships with other organizations going forward. This is in an effort to continue to be effective but also broaden the reach of our efforts. We're building very good relationships within the four wheel, equestrian and enduro communities and we intend to strengthen those ties and work to make new ones.
Our January meeting will be held at the Red Lion Inn on 1/18/12 at 7 pm. Please come on out and see what we're up to!
Merry Christmas! Tom

Way to got Azza and the rest of CJCR! sorry i didnt make it out , i had something pretty important come up early in the morning and couldnt make it out , i was looking fwd to it too, and i thought the clean up was supposed to be rancocas ? That was the original plan... but you were correct when you said there had been a recent cleanup: December 2nd email "I'm happy to report that Rancocas S.P. was looking pretty clean as of Thanksgiving Weekend. There was recently a cleanup there and what little trash remained was neatly piled trailside - so I'll be picking that up next time I'm out there. As an alternative, I scouted out the section of Brendan Byrne between Magnolia Rd. and Presidential Lakes. Looks like a good place to cleanup and easy to organize - plus it is a short drive from V-town Diner. See you guys Sunday morning. Greg O." We met at V-town diner so we could pick up any stragglers. I didn't get on the board because the main page was down and I thought the board was down too. We ended up cleaning Turkey Buzzard Bridge Road from Magnolia Road to the burnt out bridge.

As a resident of Pemberton Twp. and frequent visitor to that area I would like to thank Greg and everyone involved in the cleanup. Good job, Tom

We could definitely spend more time out there... we barely scraped the surface of what could be done. Right at the bridge we had to leave behind construction trash, tires, and an 18' fiberglass boat (among other trash) because we simply didn't have the resources to haul it out and dispose of it. We GPS'd the location for a later date.
The idea of approaching the Jeep Cleanup organizers to see if it would be possible to start alternating cleanup years between Wharton and Brendan Byrne was mentioned. Or maybe add a second spring date?
They were just a passing thoughts, but either way Brendan Byrne being near a fairly large community (Pemberton and Presidential/Country Lakes), could certainly use more attention that it is getting.

BTW - HamiltonLJ thanks for getting the main page back up! The CJCR guys on Sunday thought NJTLC had gone under because the main page was down and they (like me) didn't have the proboards bookmarked directly.

i dont see a reason to alter years between clean ups , it would be better just to have a second clean up , maybe we can start something of our own for out that way and make it an annual thing

I'm cool with it either way, it was just suggested by a member so I mentioned it. I would love to see a brendan byrne-lebanon late spring/early summer cleanup in addition to the wharton fall cleanup... but I can only put it out there for NJTLC to discuss.
It's a significant project to take on, needing AT LEAST two to three dumpsters. I definitely support it, but people need to step up and make it happen.
