To respond to your post on "What Now" please respond. I will respond here because I can't seem to there. I go into the forest every weekend whether it is on my bike, in my truck or just hiking. The park police seem to be almost non exsistent because the shortage of them. I maybe see one officer a month out there and get a wave and that's it. I see all sorts of illegal activity out there and it seems to be getting worse. I'm not sure why you seem to be a target of theirs. Maybe if we worked with them by reporting illegal activities and help them out, since they are short handed, they may be more accepting of this group. Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time in the forest. Is there a specific area that you frequent that maybe is not the best to be in?

the worst areas out by carranza , i dont even bring my jeep back there anymore and still get harrassed in my stock truck , but i just been hearing tons of horror stories of people just passing by and get stopped and harrassed for every little thing , the rangers just look for the dumbest stuff just to mess with people even if there not doing anything wrong , they need to start patroling the troubled areas instead of the more common areas and messing with normal everyday people that arent doing anything wrong

I agree that it isn't right people are being harassed...but we asked for it. We asked for more enforcement last year and we got it.
IMHO, We don't have much chance of being able to make recommendations for how/where enforcement takes place. Police don't like being micro-managed.
Lesson: Be careful what you wish for? lol!
That being said, as I recall, even your 'stock' truck has quite a few offroad stickers on the back window... correct? Some of the stock vehicles in clubs have gotten into plenty of places they shouldn't be and caused alot of damage. I'm sure park police see guys in stock vehicles doing all sorts of foolish things because they just got the truck don't know any better (I know I see it) and Carranza is definitely a gateway for people wandering into Wharton.
It wouldn't be the first time NJ Police were profiling based on stickers and the like. I'd be willing to bet money that if your vehicle is truly 100% stock, you took all the offroad stickers off, and you put only three stickers in the back window: 1) a Browning Sticker 2) a sillouette of a bowhunter in a tree stand 3) a Bass Pro Shops or Cabella's Sticker
... then you would never have a problem again.
Is it right? NO. Is it the way the world works? YES.

well my truck has zero off road stickers on it , its got a geocaching sticker , a njtlc sticker and my old street bike team logo , nothing involving offroad what so ever , and what they are doing isnt enforcement its harassment , they arent enforceing anything to do with people tearing up trails , they are bothering everyday people for the dumbest reasons

I don't get it. Last week, I passed a SPP on Hampton Rd. A friendly wave as we passed & that's it. A little later, when I parked, I realized my front license plate wasn't in place (I clip it to my roller fairlead). I thought wow, I coulda been ticketed.....
Maybe you should wear an old guy mask, Nick!

I guess it's just certain cops . And I'm not just speaking for myself , Im also not saying that I'm constantly being harrassed , that was the first and only time I was ever stopped in any of my vehicles back there, last year every ranger used to give a friendly wave no matter what truck I was in , I hear stories from hunters to Geocachers who get harrassed for the dumbest of all things , I haven't heard of almost any tickets being given out to people actually tearing stuff up , I hear stories of all sorts , there's truck that get pulled over leaving the woods all muddy that are targeted on the way and all I hear is of them getting a seat belt ticket or something , a seat belt ticket isn't going to deter from tearing up trails , maybe my orginal post may have been taken the wrong way , all the rangers need to do is patrol the center of Wharton a little better instead of just hanging out by the paved roads waiting to give nonsense harassment tickets , if people just see them on certain trails it's gonna make em think twice about doing things weither tickets are handed or not (if you follow where I'm coming from)
