Hello all. I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for the skiing position on the board. Although I'm a new member, I'm a long time resident of the Pinelands and I truly love and respect these forests. Along with the CC skiing, I hike, canoe, ride a very legal dual purpose motorcycle and volunteer to help the horse folks. Heck, I've even helped a jeep or two out of a jam... In short, I want to help and will be a part of the solution no matter what the outcome. I look forward to meeting those of you I don't know and seeking those of you I do.

I have to agree with Greg. I have had several people tell me that they tried to sign up for membership but have not heard anything. I was also approved as a member. I guess I had "sponsorship" but I do not know anyone on the founding board. Who would have "vouched" for me? I understand that there has been an influx of applicants. Is it fair to hold elections if we have a group of possible members and candidates not "approved"? I also saw the remarks about who is running for various spots. Does the site limit the list of names running, or is there only one person for a spot? I know a person who is interested but not listed.

I hope all these issues were dealt with reasonably at the last meeting. The current Governing Committee has discussed these things over the last week and agreed on an approach to the current membership application situation (see below). The newly elected Governing Committee will take charge at the next meeting, April 13, and always has the option of revising the process for future applicants, if it wishes to.
(1) All membership applications that were pending as of the date of our last meeting will be processed by March 30. (2) Such membership applicants are of two types: (a) those who have a sponsor (a current Governing Committee member vouches for them) and (b) those who don’t have a sponsor. (3) Type “a” membership applicants may become members on March 30 , so long as their sponsor confirms that he or she is indeed the sponsor, AND so long as no Governing Committee member raises any objection prior to March 30. (4) Type “b” membership applicants, not having a sponsor, shall become probationary members, assuming no Governing Committee member raises an objection. (5) The length and terms of the probation period will be at the discretion of the new Governing Committee. (6) In either case, if any objections are raised, they should be resolved as quickly as possible. If they are not resolved, by March 30, to the satisfaction of the person who raises them, the applicant in question will remain pending, and the newly elected Governing Committee will deal with the issue.
