Hi, I had a chance to go check out this Preserve entrances just a bit last night just before dark. I found the one down 563, but not the one on 532. Hiking in at dust off of 563, I liked it immediately. Open paths and many criss-cross possibilties. The bugs are starting up with the warm day, but its still early in the season. The Outdoor Club of South Jersey is having a hike there this weekend. You are welcome as a guest to attend the hike. Check out the listing: Saturday, April 23rd, 10am: Franklin Parker Preserve. Distance:11 miles Pace: Moderate, Hike Conditions: Should be dry. Normal stops. Well-behaved pets OK. NC. Description: We will hike the preserve on both sides of Rt. 563. We will pass the cars after @ 3.5 miles on the East side, so you can drop out at that point. The rest of us will continue on to the West side for another 7.5 miles. This is an interesting view of formerly active bogs reverting back to Mother Nature. Dress for walking in mostly open areas.Meeting place: Meet at the gate to the preserve, 2.8 miles south of Chatsworth on rt 563. Leaders: George Galcik, 856-783-8329 georgegalcik@comcast.net

Tom, I've hiked 3 times in different parts of the preserve. Feb-March. So much to see. Easy to keep a brisk pace on the bogs but try not to ignore the gorgeous scenery! Lots of nice side trails to access as well. I plan on heading out there again this week. I GPS my trips for future reference. Happy Easter....

OCSJ had an 11 mile hike out there today. Wonder if they did it all.

Terry, Hope to run into you out there. I'll probably start walking out there soon. Right now I have been walking the Upper/Lower Mill section of Byrne.
